ratingSelection process and gaining admission

I had a big headache with getting admission to my course. The problem was with the certification of photocopies of my past study documents. In Afghanistan we dont have specific notary public to certify copies, we rather take copies to the University head for signature and stamp. This University was less aware of the realities on the ground in the developing especially the post conflict countries. This misunderstanding caused me to send my documents three times from AFghanistan until they could be accepted by the University. The AusAID selection for scholarship was much easier than getting the admission at UQ. My suggestions to students would be to adhere to the requirements of the University in order to get admission. My advise to the Universities would be to look beyond the well developed systems of the developed countries and understand the challenges students face in their countries where systems' at World standard may not be available. I believe students in developing countries are much in need of higher education and exposure to a developing country environment than a stduent from a developed country.

I am receiving the Australian Leadership Award from AusAID. I applied on line and got funding. For a fair selection for the funding entities, I found the on line application for funding an outstanding method, as this did not allow many other hands to corrupt or use this opportunity for relatives of those working at Government high positions. My advise for studenst is to not give up and continue to apply for any opportunity. I had applied to two more opportunities before the success.

My study is an outstanding experience in my life. I now have the opportunity to marry my more than 8 years of field experience of managing public health issue with teh theory. Facilities at the univerisity are pervasive.

Life is not bad. I am missing my little duagter and my wife. Accommodation is not bad; it is close to the university though. There are some associations for students where I go and chat and relax.

Yes the job prospects are good. I will continue to keep in touch with the network I have so for made at the univesity and outside University in Australia.
